Started by Ken Schomburg in 2003, Evolution prides itself on providing design solutions that are ready to manufacture not just pretty pictures. Our client base stretches across all industries including medical, consumer, industrial, packaging, institutional, military and automotive. We have extensive experience designing for all manufacturing processes, but our forte is injection-molded plastics.
Because we understand that not everyone has a giant corporation funding their project, we work to satisfy our customers' needs while staying within their design budget. Production tooling and assembly costs are watched closely throughout the design process.
Our product design process begins with our customer. We meet with the customer to learn their wants and needs for the product as well as their cost targets for design, tooling and manufacturing. We research competitive products and consider the different manufacturing processes. We create simple hand sketches showing possible design directions and solutions to particular aspects of the project. Then we meet again with the customer to discuss the benefits of each design direction, and together we choose the most promising path to pursue in engineering. Before engineering begins we can also provide simple 3-D mockups of the chosen direction, if needed.
In the engineering phase we create 3-D computer models of the necessary parts. These files can be used to build high quality prototypes, to build prototype molds, and to obtain production tooling and manufacturing quotes. We create the appropriate detailed drawing package and 3-D CAD files ready for tooling. We can also provide competitive production quotes for all the parts we design.
