Help MSHS Meet Our Goal
Support the Minnesota State Horticultural Society
Membership and subscription dues account for about 50% of our yearly budget, so individual donations provide vital support for MSHS to serve our gardening community. Our contribution goal for the fiscal year ending on June 30, 2011 is $150,000. If youve already given this fiscal year, thank you! If not, make a gift today, in any amount, to help MSHS reach our goal.

Welcome to the Minnesota State Horticultural Society
The MSHS is a not-for-profit membership organization, and is one of the largest horticultural societies in the United States. Since 1866, we have served the gardening community through programs for individuals of all ages:
Northern Gardener, the only magazine edited exclusively for cold climate gardening
Member discounts at over 150 garden centers, nurseries & landscaping services
Volunteer opportunities to meet other gardening enthusiasts at MSHS events.
A network of affiliated garden clubs
An extensive lending library of horticultural and gardening books
A retail bookstore and gardening gift shop
MN Green: a program that supplies donated plant material to community gardens
Garden in a Box: a low-cost raised bed enclosure that can be used almost anywhere
At the MSHS, we connect plants and people. Join today and discover the best gardening tool you will ever use.
We have extended the dates for submitting photos and voting.
The deadline for submitting your photos is December 15th.
Vote by December 31st.
Join creative MSHS members across the state in a front door decorating contest. Its a statewide competition to get in the Christmas spirit. Participants are encouraged to use botanical product like greens, berries, dried grasses, etc. Decorate your whole front entrance and inspire your neighbors to do the same.
The front door displays that have the most votes will receive prizes from MSHS. We will display the photos of the winning doors and homeowners on our website and on our Facebook page.
