We are a unique home for the sailor who seeks something more than just a place to tie their boat.Shorewood Marina and Yacht Club on Gideon's Bay in Excelsior, Minn. We offer many opportunities for sailors to enjoy camaraderie through social events races and family events. We are in on Lake Minnetonka, just 20 miles from downtown Minneapolis. The lake offers over 125 miles of shoreline and ample opportunities for sailing and other water activities.

Gabriel Jabbour, Owner.  Since taking over Tonka Bay Marina in 1990, Gabriel has been tireless in making improvements to all the facilities. Today everything is state of the art. No one is more committed to boater safety and the environment. His leadership efforts to help eradicate aquatic invasive species have been tireless. Gabriel has been recognized with a DNR Award for public access, a Minnehaha Watershed District Award for lifetime achievement, and two Hennepin County Sheriff Awards for public safety. Gabriel runs the business with his daughter Gigi.

1978: YACHT CLUB CONSTRUCTION BEGINS. Docks at Shorewood Yacht Club (SYC) are constructed using 35-foot long cedar piles driven 15 feet into the lake's bottom. The angled pier design creates easy docking after a day of sailing. Shorewood Yacht Club is officially incorporated a year later.
