There are no words to convey our gratitude for your loving kindness and expressions of sympathy after the sudden loss of Bill. We have always been proud of our wonderful small town of Walker, a community that pulls together and supports each other like no other. We have been overwhelmed with the number of people who willingly stepped forward to honor Bill in so many ways: cards, memorials, flowers, plants, trees, food, phone calls, hugs, and visits.
We know Bill would be so honored for the “HUGE” outpouring of support at the visitation and the celebration of his life. Thanks to all of you who worked side by side in: turning the fairgrounds into a church; donating and preparing food and libations; and sharing stories and wonderful memories of Bill. We would also like to thank all of the friends, fans and people involved with our Moondance festivals who sent condolences and memories to us online. We have read all of your messages and appreciate all of the prayers and support.
No matter what you did, in a big or small way, each and every gesture was truly appreciated. Bill’s unique gift was his ability to make each and every one of us feel special. Thanks to all of you for returning his gift to us. Please keep Bill’s spirit alive… cherish your friendships, share your gifts, and always live life to the fullest each and every day. We will all be celebrating his life again next June and July.

It is difficult, year after year, to describe the power of the Moondance Jam. I don’t want to repeat myself and I certainly don’t want to become cliché. The truth is, however, that the Moondance Jam simply contains a magical element that makes it the most beloved festival in the United States. People who come to Moondance once, come back time and time again. In fact, during Day II, I spoke with a couple that said it was their first Jam. They both smiled and said in unison, “We’re addicted.” I smiled and gave them a look back as if to say, “I, too, am under the Moondance spell.” One wonders if scientists took soil samples at Moondance what they would find. The place is like a homing device for true music fans. The Moondance Jam calls people to it. Once your MD virginity is gone you don’t simply attend Moondance, you are called back to it, day after day, year after year. You dream about Moondance and you obsessively wait for the website to announce the bands for the next year. This is no ordinary concert. [full article]
Gig Reviews... Moondance JAM 19
by Andy Nathan of Get Ready to Rock
While we congratulate ourselves in the UK at the emergence of new rock festivals such as High Voltage and Sonisphere, the classic rock festival is a tradition in the American heartland as familiar as barbecued ribs, Budweiser and wide open highways.
Moondance Jam, set among woods and lakes in the Northern Minnesota countryside, is now in its nineteenth year and broke all attendance records with apparently an 18,000 sell out all weekend.
With a choice of standing in a sandpit at the front, going for a VIP section or sitting in a lawn chair on a hill, generous set times of an hour and ten minutes minimum for each of the five daily bands, and two covered bars with local bands playing in between sets, not to mention the best of American customer service, the Moondance concert experience is a very agreeable one. Festival Seating Again in 2011!
Moondance Jam is wide open again in 2011! With a General Admission ticket, you can work your way up to the front of the stage for your favorite band or bring in your lawn chair and relax on the grassy hill side. Do both if you want! We want everyone to have the best campin' and jammin' experience at Moondance. [View Concert Area]
The Lazy Moon Backstage Bar & Tiki Bar Are Open for Everyone!
The Lazy Moon Backstage Bar is a great place to meet up with friends during Moondance. We have a full menu and bar with a morning breakfast buffet and bloody mary bar along with acoustic acts and karaoke for entertainment. There is also a screened in deck to see what is going on backstage (there is a good chance you might even catch a glimpse of your favorite artist or band!)
The Lazy Moon can be reserved for weddings, reunions or other private parties. Please Call 218-836-1055 or go to moondanceevents.net for more information. Also available are the Moondance Jam Saloon & Grill, Moondance Fields and the Moondance Guesthouse.
