On May 20, 2009, the temporary increase in the standard maximum deposit insurance amount to $250,000 per depositor was extended through December 31, 2013.
The FDIC Transaction Account Guarantee Program is a separate program which does not involve FDIC Deposit Insurance.
"The Northern State Bank of Gonvick has chosen not to participate in the FDIC's Transaction Account Guarantee Program. Customers of The Northern State Bank of Gonvick with noninterest-bearing transaction accounts will continue to be insured for up to $250,000 under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules."
