A Firm Foundation
Originally Webber Hospital, and home to Arrowhead Health Center, Lake Haven Nursing Home, and now Wesley Residence, the sturdy brick building on 56th and Grand is a well-known historical landmark in West Duluth. Constructed in 1926 to meet the needs of steel workers and their families, it was built to last. Thick walls of concrete, brick and steel, and floors of terrazzo and stone support almost a century of compassionate service within the community.
Named for John Wesley, the founder of the Methodist Church, Wesley Residence has a 37 year tradition of Christian care rendered to countless men and women from all walks of life and circumstances. Wesley Residence is still owned and operated by the founding family, whose roots in the West Duluth area go back over sixty years. Members of the immediate family have contributed a combined total of 130 years of service, along with a dedicated and professional staff. The Golden Rule is the basis of our mission statement. We believe this simple creed encompasses all that is necessary and good in business and in life.
Blooming and Thriving
Surrounded by award-winning gardens, our building was recently renovated and is often described by visitors as "warm and homey." With 38 residents, Wesley Residence is small enough to offer personal touches, yet large enough to provide a wide array social activities and amenities. Individual needs are catered to. For example, an art studio has been added for a resident who has rediscovered his love of painting. Each and every resident and staff make daily contributions to the Wesley family just by being themselves.
Martin Luther Campus has been serving seniors in the areas of assisted living, memory care, transitional care, adult day care and long term care for over 50 years.
