GCC Ready Mix paved 4th Avenue in Windom, Minnesota with eight-inch concrete on a four-inch Class gravel base. According to ARM member Mitch Voehl, the project became possible after the city council designated 4th street as a 10-ton road and then requested equivalent design plans. It also helped that Voehl created and distributed a personalized, informative flyer to gain public support for concrete paving for the project. See other concrete projects

High Performance Building Requirements
As states and municipalities are developing codes and ordinances requiring green or sustainable buildings, the officials in charge of adopting the new rules are scrambling for appropriate codes language. To fill this void, the Portland Cement Association has developed a compilation of amendments and appendices that modify the International Code Council International Building Code to address high performance buildings.
