THE MONUMENT PROCESS
Most people want to place a tribute for their loved one, but they are a little uncertain how to go about doing this. Below are a few things to expect when choosing your memorial.
How much will the monument cost? This depends on the shape, design, finish, color of the granite and size of the memorial.
Granite comes in a variety of colors. We have several of the most popular colors available for your viewing in our showroom.
Your next decision will be the shape and design of your memorial. Upright memorials, slant markers and flush markers are some of the options. If you have a drawing or picture of the way you would like your memorial to look, bring that with you and we can work from your ideas.
The design of the memorial will personalize your monument to your loved ones life, activities, hobbies, etc. While some may choose a symbol of religion, profession or military, you may decide to carve, laser or hand etch a scene, favorite verse, object or personalized etching to your monument.
The finish of the monument may be polished, smooth, rough or a combination of these.
The size of the monument may be controlled by the cemetery regulations or the size of your lot within the the cemetery. We will work with you and the cemetery to determine the monument dimensions that will work best for your situation.
When understanding monument dimensions, the following rule applies:
Width (Ft-Inches) x Depth (Ft-Inches) x Height (Ft-Inches)
For example, if a monument is 3-0 x 0-6 x 2-6 It is said to be 3 feet wide x 6 inches thick x 2 feet 6 inches tall.
We will provide you with a full price quote which will include setting and installation fees, before ordering your monument.
Lastly, before any engraving of your monument begins, you will approve a drawing of the monument and make any changes as necessary, double checking dates and spelling to ensure your complete satisfaction.
After your monument is installed, we will let you know so you can be the first to see your loved ones memorial set in its final resting place.
