Discuss the history of the Celts: Celtic people are defined today by their language albeit there are six or more geographical areas that are identifiable with the Celts, most notably Ireland, Scotland, Wales and Brittany. Christianity took hold in these countries, especially in Ireland. Then we will move to understanding Celtic spirituality today and the vestiges we now experience, including the notion of an intimate God, as opposed to a transcendent God. Led by Tom Parry.

Michael Summerfield will take a look at the work of the late Madeleine LEngle in these books: Two-Part Invention: the Story of a Marriage and The Irrational Season (which chronicles her life through the lens of liturgical feasts and seasons). Ms. LEngle was a talented novelist, keeper of journals, poet, and author of many books about Christian spirituality.
Sundays at 10:00 a.m.
K-5th graders will learn about the Latin American celebration of Da de los Muertos - as a cultural comparison and contrast of All Saints Day. Students are encouraged to bring a picture of a deceased loved one. We will celebrate the lives of the deceased, honoring their memory by sharing stories. We will construct an ofrenda - an altar for the deceased, with photos and brief descriptions of their lives for display in the Bishops' Hall.

Enjoy the aromas of the season that permeate the Fireplace and Refectory this annual event, while creating decorations to help prepare our cathedral for the season of Advent. Well have materials available for you to prepare your home for the season of Advent. Create a beautiful Advent wreath with real greenery, decorate candles, or design a variety of Angels for your home or for a gift or simply enjoy the company of friends along with wonderful treats that will be available.

Mark your calendars for our new one-hour lunch workshops with our multi-talented Juanita Palmerhall. Celebrate the Christmas Season on December 1st creating your own Christmas Doll (cost only $10). Come to 11:30 a.m. Eucharist and bring a bag lunch for 12:30 p.m. workshop. Materials, tea, coffee, and cookies provided by your host The Cathedral Book Shop.

Join us for an evening of fun, fellowship and fundraising to support the programs of Saint Mark's Episcopal Cathedral. The evening begins with cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and a silent auction starting at 5:30 p.m. At 6:30 p.m. we move into the Nave of our Cathedral for a festive dinner and entertainment.

The St. Nicholas Tea which celebrates the children of our Cathedral will be held Sunday Dec. 5th. As children take their place at the beautifully set tables lined with tablecloth, china tea cups, tea pots filled with hot cocoa, and plates of treats, they will learn about St Nicholas - a Saint who gave away his wealth to help the children and the poor. Children are invited to bring a gift card which will benefit our Monday Night Supper guests...all in the spirit of St Nick!

Join us for weekly Wednesday Bible Study (at 10:30 a.m.) on the readings for upcoming Sundays worship lead by Cathedral clergy and lay leaders. You are invited to stay for the Wednesday Eucharist at 11:30 a.m. immediately following.

Volunteer at Sunday Night Supper
Join us on the second Sunday of each month to serve a hot meal to our neighbors in need. Arrive at 4:30 p.m. to help set up, begin serving guests at 5:30 p.m., and finish clean-up by 6:30 p.m.

Join us each Monday to serve a hot meal to our neighbors in need. Volunteer opportunities start at 3:00 p.m. and last through 7:30 p.m.
Saint Mark's is one of 15 congregations working with Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity to engage parishioners in building affordable, safe housing in Minneapolis. New build dates are always being added. We need builders and folks to bring food for the building crew. If you're interested in signing up or just have questions, contact Lynn Gilligan.
