The mission of Rejuvenation Massage Therapy is to enhance the wellness of our massage clients, by providing relaxation, stress management, and soft tissue injury rehabilitation through therapeutic massage.
At Rejuvenation Massage Therapy, we help put back, what life has taken out.
Massage can be an important component of an overall health and wellness program. Massage is one of the oldest of all medical treatments. There are Chinese records dating back more than 3000 years documenting its use. Massage was also used by ancient Persians, Hindus, and Egyptians.

Rejuvenation Massage Therapy is located in the Wellhaven Center in downtown Hopkins. The atmosphere at Rejuvenation Massage Therapy is very calming, serene, welcoming, and professional. The massage room is warm, comfortable, relaxing, and quiet.
You will lie on a massage table, and you will be completely draped with sheets at all time. The massage therapist will leave the room while you get undressed and get on the table. Only the part of your body which is being massaged will be uncovered during the massage. Although massage is usually done with the client completely unclothed, you may undress to your comfort level.
On your first visit, you will be asked to complete a short health history, and we will discuss your health issues and goals. There are some medical conditions, which make massage work unadvisable, or require a modification in the techniques used. Other medical conditions may require a written referral from your doctor, before massage can be done.
You and Karen will discuss the desired outcome of the session. Based on your individual health issues and goals, Karen will determine the areas of focus, which parts of the body will be worked on, and which techniques will be used to create your treatment plan. She may also recommend home treatments, such as exercises or stretches, to further improve your outcomes.

Please arrive 15 minutes early for your first appointment to fill out your health history form. For all sessions, please arrive promptly. Late arrival may reduce the length of your session.
Please drink plenty of water 24 hours prior to, and 24 hours after your massage, in order to maximize the benefits and help with the detoxification process.
After a massage, most people feel very relaxed. Some people find relief from long-term aches and pains. After an initial period of feeling slowed down, people often experience a feeling of increased energy, heightened awareness, and greater productivity which can last for days.

Tips for Enhancing your Health and Wellness
Taking good care of your body should be at the top of everyone’s to-do list. In order to effectively meet the challenges of modern life, you need to be in top form. You will look and feel better if you take the steps to improve your health and nutrition. Massage can be an important part of an overall wellness program. Stress relief alone, can improve your vitality and state of mind.
Other steps you can take include:

Eat a healthy diet. Include whole, natural foods from all the food groups. Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables and whole grains. Eat moderate amounts of lean protein and dairy foods. Avoid high fat foods, fried foods, fast foods, junk food, and foods high in saturated fats. Reduce or eliminate toxins such as sugar, artificial sweeteners, caffeine, and chemical food additives. Use alcohol in moderation, or avoid it completely.
Make sure you have an adequate intake of pure water. Dehydration can cause muscle pain and injury. Drinking plenty of water helps to flush toxins out of the body. Generally, you should be drinking an ounce of water for every two pounds of body weight, so if you weigh 160 pounds, you need 80 ounces of water daily. With the exception of your morning urine, your urine should be very pale in color and odorless. If its not, you are not drinking enough water.
Get regular moderate exercise. For best results, your program should include a variety of forms of exercise, including cardiovascular training such as walking, swimming, running, or use of cardio machines; strength training such as weight training or resistance training; and flexibility training such as yoga or stretching. Try to get at least 30 - 45 minutes of exercise daily, five or six days a week.
Get adequate sleep. For most people, this means seven to eight hours per night. Get into a routine where you go to bed and awake at the same approximate time every day. Some people find that performing a relaxation meditation right before bedtime, helps them fall asleep and stay asleep. Reduce stressful activities and have quiet time before bed. Eliminate or reduce caffeine and alcohol in the late afternoon and evening, both of these can disrupt your sleep cycles. Keep your bedroom cool, dark, and quiet.
Practice stress reduction techniques, such as deep breathing, meditation, yoga, etc.
Live your life with a joyful, thankful, positive attitude. Reach out to others and offer your help, kindness, and concern whenever you can. Our thoughts and emotions create our reality, and have a direct influence on our physical health.
