Hales Machine Tool is a leading distributor of machine tools in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska and Western Wisconsin. The founder, Chuck Hales, started Hales Machine Tool in 1983 after selling out his shares in a different local dealer started by Chuck in 1968. Since then his son’s Dan (President), Tim (Vice President) and Randy (Sales Mgr.) are running the day to day operations. Chuck has taken the roll of CEO, which is affectionately referred to as the Chief Entertainment Officer.

We represent many machine tool manufacturers, most for multiple years. These include Doosan (Daewoo)(1984), Milltronics (2000), Brother (2000), Amada Wasino (2006), Hanwha Swiss Style Turning (2008), Amada Band Saws (1990), Eurotech Elite (1994) and we have recently signed contracts with United Grinding. With long term relationships with our manufacturers we have created a very strong working relationship with them which helps us serve the customers at the highest level possible.

Our latest new product line is United Grinding which is a conglomerate of world class builders of many types of grinding machines. These builders include Studer, Magerle, Blohm & Walter tool and Cutter Grinders among a few others.

We are a full service dealer with 2 “in house” service tech’s, 6 “field” service tech’s and 2 applications engineers. The capabilities of this staff are among the best in the country.
