A Novel Place is a real "brick and mortar" store in the northwest corner of the Minneapolis metropolitan area, in a town called Osseo. The town of Osseo maintains a population of roughly 2,500 people. However, it is surrounded by two cities with a total population of more than 80,000 people.
The "bookstore in Osseo" has been in existence for more than 20 years. The current owners have dedicated over 10 years to the retail establishment and have no intention of stopping! There are thousands of customers that walk through the doors and many more that shop via the Internet from all parts of the world.
At A Novel Place, we have an inventory of hundreds of thousands of books. At any given time, there are more than 50,000 volumes in the store with many thousands more available to us in our warehouse. Our customers have told us it is like a treasure hunt when they come into the store. They never know what we will have on the shelves. But don't let the "old-fashioned" way fool you, we have a staff that knows more about the book industry and "who writes what" than many experts. Our customers challenge them frequently and they are often impressed when the answer is "off the top of their head"
