The North Star Chapter of the Appraisal Institute
We have changed our name from Metro/Minnesota Chapter to North Star Chapter of the Appraisal Institute. The time was right to find a name that represented our chapter jurisdiction which was changed recently with the merger with Lake Superior Chapter.
The Metro/Minnesota Chapter was formed when the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers and the Society of Real Estate Appraisers, the appraisal profession's two most respected organizations, unified in January 1991. Both organizations were formed during the 1930s to help standardize the appraisal process by promoting professional education and upholding high ethical standards.
The Chapter is comprised of approximately 465 persons including Designated, Associate and Affiliate Members. These members reside within Chapter boundaries of the entire states of Minnesota and North Dakota, the eastern two-thirds of South Dakota, 10 counties in west and northwest Wisconsin and the Canadian province of Manitoba.
This website has been designed for Appraisal Institute Members and the public to obtain the most current information on our education programs, chapter meetings, our membership directory, and chapter newsletters, as well as easy contact with the North Star Chapter office via e-mail , the Appraisal Institute headquarters in Chicago, and the legislative office in Washington, D.C.
