The Importance of Rabies Vaccinations!
Recently,we here at Parkview have had a number of calls regarding bats in clients' homes and what to do about their cats. Bats in the home create a risk factor for your cats as well as yourselves. It is extremely important to keep your pets up to date on the rabies vaccine.
In Minnesota, skunks and bats are the most common rabid animals. Domestic animals such as cattle, horses, dogs and cats generally become infected after contact with rabid skunks or wild carnivores. People are usually exposed to rabies by dogs and cats, livestock, or bats. (Minnesota Dept. of Health).
