Welcome to our practice and thank you for the opportunity to provide dental care for your child. Our goal is to make you and your child's visit to our practice as comfortable as possible. We strongly believe that all children should have access to dental care in an appropriate setting.

We recommend that a child have his / her first dental examination by 12 months of age (after the first teeth have erupted into their mouth). The goal of examining the infant is to make sure the teeth are healthy and to provide information to parents regarding oral hygiene and diet to prevent tooth decay.
For older children, we will provide an examination, cleaning, fluoride treatment, and obtain the appropriate radiographs (x-rays). Using the information from the examination and x-rays, we assemble an appropriate treatment plan to ensure optimal dental health. Our recommendations are not based upon insurance coverage or other limitations. We will recommend what we consider to be optimal treatment for your child. Treatment as indicated by the diagnosis will be provided at subsequent appointments.
Parents may be allowed to remain with their children during treatment. For the safety of your children, we would request that other siblings remain in the waiting room. If it appears that the presence of a parent or caregiver is interfering with our ability to safely provide care, we reserve the right to have the parent step out of the child's field of vision or to monitor treatment from one of our viewing rooms. Please refer to our behavior management section for information regarding our management techniques.
Please try not to be upset if your child cries. This is a normal reaction to fear, and we are trained to help fearful children through their dental experience. When describing their visit, do not use words such as shot, needle, drill, pull, or other words suggesting pain or unpleasantness. We will treat your child as our own and will provide treatment in the most gently caring way possible.
We will try to respect your schedule and see your child at his / her appointed time. Please remember that children can have good and bad days and may require additional time at their appointment due to factors out of our control.

We will accept new patients from birth to 15 years of age. Please arrive 15 minutes early to allow time to complete any needed paperwork. We request 24 hours notice if you plan to cancel any appointments. Barring exceptional circumstances, we will not reschedule an initial appointment that was missed or canceled at the last minute. Patients that miss two appointments without 24 hour notice will be dismissed from the practice.
Financial / Insurance Arrangements
We will make a diagnosis and provide treatment based upon your child's needs and current conditions. We do not base treatment upon dental insurance, third party benefits, or other limitations you may have. Our goal is to provide the best care available for your child. Financial assistance through insurance which may be available to you is between you and your insurance company. We will file a pre-determination of benefits and will assist you in filing insurance claims, but you are responsible for paying for treatment as it is rendered.
