Blessed to be a blessing"I will bless you ... and you will be a blessing." Genesis 12:2
These words – Blessed to be a Blessing – are the theme for our 2011 Stewardship emphasis here at Trinity Lutheran Church. They are, we believe, words that encompass the best of what Christian faith and life are all about and the essence of what it means to be a part of the community of believers.
When you look at it, the Christian story is really one continuous narrative of blessing upon blessing. The blessing first given to Abraham and Sarah is one that has been handed down to generation after generation, and it is a message that Trinity has been proclaiming for over 100 years. It is this message: we have been blessed by a generous and loving God not because of anything we have done; rather simply because God wants us to live in the knowledge of the abundance of his grace and mercy. We, in turn, are called to give praise and thanks to God for these gifts and bless others with our blessings.
The adventure of being Blessed to be a Blessing is one that our Lord holds out to every believer. It’s a journey that can literally change the way in which you look at the world, your life, your family. It is our prayer that as we all consider the blessings we have been given, we will gladly give a portion back in return.
For the next few weeks in worship you will hear stories of how Trinity members and friends are acknowledging this call from God. Each week we will see people living out their Christian witness to be a blessing to others; and now we are asking YOU to participate in the following ways:
PRAY – Prayerfully consider the bountiful gifts given to you.
REFLECT – Reflect on how God is calling you to go out to be a blessing to others.
RESPOND – Respond through the pledging of your gifts for the upcoming year.
Trinity Lutheran is blessed in countless ways and I give thanks for this community of believers who are eager to share their blessings with others. Thank you for your gifts!

Our OUTERWEAR FAIR was a huge success, thanks to the many volunteers who helped and donated outerwear.
We helped over 125 families and gave away
465 coats! This year, toys were collected and
20 new bikes were raffled off, thanks to Trinity's Spit & Shine group.
