BKS Iyengar Yoga Center of Minneapolis is a well established school of yoga study and has been in its present location at 2736 Lyndale Ave. So. since 1987. We take a systematic approach to the practice of yoga. The classes taught at the Center are based on the teachings of Mr. Iyengar who bases his teachings on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, the profound and timeless classical text of yoga.
According to Patanjali, the correct practice and study of yoga can lead to health of the body, serenity of the mind and removal of the obstacles to spiritual evolution.

Classes are designed to introduce the vigorous Iyengar method of Yoga to students new to Yoga or new to the Iyengar method. The classes emphasize standing postures. They include beginning seated and forward bending postures followed by passive supported postures. We offer our introductory classes as a series. Click on the introductory link above for dates and more information.There are still spaces available in the introductory series that begin in November and January. We accept students up until the second week of an introductory series.
