Lake Country School is an independent Montessori school located in south Minneapolis. Founded in 1976, it currently serves approximately 300 children between the ages of 3 and 15 years. It is recognized by the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI), fully accredited by the Independent Schools Association of the Central States (ISACS), and a member of the Minnesota Association of Independent Schools (MAIS).
We believe that children learn by doing and are lovers of purposeful work, spontaneously chosen and carried out with profound joy. Montessori education attends to the total development of the child - social, emotional, intellectual, physical and spiritual.
Once again the Lake Country Land School is pleased to offer high quality Fraser and Balsam Fir holiday trees. Also available are florist quality balsam and white pine blended wreaths. Both trees and wreaths come from the Conklin Tree Farm, located about twenty miles from the Land School near Menomonie, Wisconsin. The pick-up date for the trees is Saturday, December 4, in the LCS parking lot from 9 am until noon.
The Land School is also offering Holiday Produce Baskets, which include potatoes, onions, squash, and other storage vegetables from the Land School garden. Each basket also contains a pint of maple syrup, and cheese from the Bolen Vale Cheese Shop (a neighbor of the Land School). Pick-up for Holiday Produce Baskets will be on Friday, November 19th from 4 until 6 pm.
Our Mission Statement: Lake Country School is an urban-based Montessori community whose purpose is to help children prepare themselves for life. We seek to mirror and embrace the rich diversity of the city. We foster independence, critical thinking, respect and responsibility to self, to others and to the earth.
