Providing Public Transit, Volunteer Driver and
Information Services to Mille Lacs County Residents
The goal of the Board of Directors and staff at MLPT is to try to meet the transportation needs of all residents of Mille Lacs County.
Low cost Public Transit is available in Princeton, Milaca, Onamia, Isle and the surrounding areas. We currently have four buses serving Mille Lacs County residents, all are lift-equipped and driven by professional and caring drivers.
Volunteer Drivers provide rides to those needing assistance getting to medical appointments and other necessary trips. Our volunteer drivers log more than 25,000 miles each month providing transportation.

A public hearing will be held on July 17th at 1:00 PM to consider a rate increase. The hearing will be held at our offices located at 535 8th Street N.E. Milaca, MN. The proposed increase would take effect later this summer. The proposed increases are as follows:

We are beginning a strategic planning process and want to know what the public needs and wants from Public Transit. Funding from the Constitutional Amendment dedicating MVST dollars to transportation and rural transit will begin to flow in the next few years. It is critical that we have a well thought out plan for transit in Mille Lacs County.
The mission of MLPT is to satisfy the transportation needs of Mille Lacs County residents of all ages by providing information and referrals; safe & affordable public transit; and volunteer driver services.
