We have two festivals each year. Our Grape Stomp and Fall Festival is held annually the third weekend of September. Lamont Cranston leads off the fun on Friday night with a barn dance. Over MEA weekend we celebrate the end of the apple harvest with our annual Applefest. In 2010 we are adding a Catapult Contest to this festival which will be held on Saturday & Sunday.

About Carlos Creek
Our winery is located on 160 acres with 12 acres devoted to vines and 15 dedicated to apples. Our grape varieties include Frontenac, Foch, Valiant, Swenson Red, La Crescent, King of the North, Brianna, Marquette, Petite Pearl and Edelweiss. Our apple varieties include Cortland, Fireside, Haralson, McIntosh, Regent, and our largest planting, and Honeycrisp, Minnesotas State Apple.
Carlos Creek is located in Minnesota's first federally designated Viticulture Area. An American Viticulture Area (AVA) is a wine grape-growing region with distinguishable geographic features. Most people are familiar with the Napa Valley AVA. Our AVA, called "Alexandria Lakes" was established in August of 2005. AVA designations are based on an area's topography, soil type, micro climate, elevation and, to some extent, historical precedent. AVAs range in size from several hundred acres to several million acres. AVAs are essentially a geographic pedigree for wines.
Our grounds and buildings also make ideal settings for your wedding, groom's dinner, or corporate event. Our event arena is 12,000 square feet, and can easily accommodate groups of 400 or more. For information and pricing, contact Michelle Bailly, our event coordinator, at michelle@carloscreekwinery.com.
