CHANGE IN WATER RATES SEPTEMBER, 2010
Water rates will be revised to comply with the State of Minnesota's requirement that water conservation rates be put in place. Most residential customers will see no change in their monthly water bill. The average residential water customer uses about 5,000 gallons of water per month. Residential customers using more than 10,000 gallons of water per month will see a slight increase in their bills. The old rate included a charge of $2.20 for each 1,000 gallons of water used. The new conservation rate will charge $2.20 per 1,000 gallons for the first 10,000 gallons used and $2.30 per 1,000 gallons for usage over 10,000 gallons per month.
Commercial water customers will see little or no change in their monthly water bills.
WATER PLANT CONSTRUCTION MAY CAUSE DISCOLORED WATER
April 28, 2010: Due to the construction of the Water Filter Plant this spring, some iron particles have broke through the filters and may continue to break through the filters causing some slightly discolored water in the system. If you see this at your residence or place of business, it is not a health threat. Let the water run in a "hard water tap" for a few minutes and this should clear up the problem. If the condition persists, please contact our office at 763-6501. We apologize for any inconvenience.
