Winter brings on an entire different set of indoor air quality issues…such as too dry of air in your home.
In addition to dry, flaky, itchy skin parched indoor air causes a variety of problems, discomforts and expenses. It causes dried out sinuses, dry eyes, sore throats and coughs.
For many folks, it aggravates allergies and respiratory ailments. Moisture depleted air also has an adverse effect on our homes. Prolonged dry indoor air causes static electricity, causes plants to wilt, pianos to slip out of tune and wood floors to pull apart.
Fortunately, by maintaining indoor relative humidity at a healthier, more comfortable 30-45 per cent, whole-house humidifiers make us feel more comfortable, protect our belongings and save us money on heating bills because humidified air feels warmer so we can lower our thermostat setting.
Honeywell TrueEASE advanced by-pass humidifiers save energy, save water and save you money.
TrueEase humidifiers do it all by only running water and air through the system when humidity is needed…using up to 50% less water and saving energy by eliminating the constant cycling of air.

Q: When I start my gas fireplace, sometimes the glass becomes foggy for a bit. Should I be worried about it?
A: Not at all.
Water is a component of gas and the condensation or fogging is a by-product of combustion.
Therefore, it appears when the fireplace is first lit, but once the fireplace heats up, the condensation (fog) will evaporate within seconds.
“For Your Family’s Comfort,” Modern Heating and Plumbing carries and installs full lines of gas fired fireplaces.

A home is more than the sum of the walls that define it.
A home is a concept, an idea, a feeling…
Home is where we go after a hard day’s work to be with our family. It’s a place where we relax, unwind, and enjoy life. The temperature inside your home is one of the largest factors that affect the comfort inside your home… more than your furniture, the paint color of your walls, your flooring… being too cold in the winter or too warm in the summer affects how much you enjoy your home more than any other factor.
A Geo-Comfort Geothermal Heating and Cooling system can take all the effort and worry out of keeping your home comfortable. Using advanced, natural technology, GeoComfort systems provide constant and even temperatures through all seasons. An investment in a geothermal system offers you more than a way to heat your home in the winter and cool it in the summer.
Besides being extremely energy efficient and earth friendly, geothermal systems increase the comfort in your home by maintaining consistent temperatures; there is a 20 to 25 year life expectancy of the system, less maintenance and service is required plus a geothermal system has versatile equipment which can be installed in new or existing homes.
Currently there are many incentives available to lower the cost of a geothermal system. There is a federal tax credit of thirty per cent of the total installed cost of the system, plus attractive utility rebates, reducing the installed cost of your geothermal system by more than one third!
To make your home comfort purchase, even more cost effective, Modern Heating and Plumbing offers GeoSmart Financing. Stop in and see us at 1040 Randolph Road in Detroit Lakes.
