Additional Upcoming Training
US EPA has delayed enforcement of the Renovation, Repair and Painting Rule's firm certification requirement until October 1, 2010. This delay was made to accomodate contractors who have not be able to find or take a Certified Training Provider course. EPA will not enforce against individual renovation workers if the person has applied to enroll in, or has enrolled in, by no later than September 30, 2010, an approved Certified Renovator course from an approved training provider. This course must be taken by December 31, 2010. All other provisions of the rule are still enforceable.

An estimated 211,000 trade contractors, third-party property managers, residential rental property owners, property leasing agents, and other affected organizations will have to comply with the Rule, including applying to EPA to become "Certified Renovation Firms." Additionally, hundreds of thousands of workers performing these "renovations" will have to be trained and certified as "Renovators" by EPA-accredited trainers. These include:

With the new Federal deadline for enrollment in a Certified Renovator course by September 30, 2010, regulation, now is the time to take action.
Save the Date: MMBA & CLC will be providing training for the Certified Lead Safety for Renovation, Repair & Painting on: October 15, November23 and December 15th. The class will take place at Central Lakes College - Brainerd Campus

Fee: $200.00 for MMBA Members (lunch on your own); $225.00 for non-MMBA Member (lunch on your own)
